Research Description
This research would focus on how freight data is shared across agencies. Are hazardous materials being moved if incident occurs?; Over-sized vehicles usually need escorts-- data on restrictions and other conditions often not shared; What happens when operations detours the vehicle from the permitted route due to a traffic incident or other event? What are the hours of service time restrictions and where are locations to park the vehicle safely and with minimal impact?
This research would be a synthesis identifying agencies and best practices for freight data sharing. Additional follow on research would be identified based on the synthesis.
