Research Description
This project will help address an important problem all agencies involved in procuring traffic management systems. A through scan of the deployment of traffic management systems across the continental US and Europe will provide a body of reference and lessons learned from the deployment of traffic management systems and guide agencies as to what are the critical factors for successful deployment of traffic management systems software. Another critical need addressed by this project is a listing of potential pitfalls for a successful project.

This project will result in the following benefits: • Delineate successful procurement mechanisms for traffic management system software; • Build towards a system that reduces operator workload by incorporating best practices from successful projects; • Reduce learning curve for new staff within a traffic management center
