Research Description
Across TSMO elements of traveler information, incident management, and ITS, there is a need to integrate evacuation protocols further, as well as plan for the ability to initiate new evacuation route plans, or rapidly adjust current evacuation route plans in response to unforeseen disasters occurring at various geographical and temporal extents. This study proposes research or a synthesis of how State DOTs conduct evacuation route planning and integrate it with TSMO elements, and how adjustments are made to events that occur outside of present evacuation plans and related contingencies.
