Research Description
Using probe data from vehicles for traffic prediction and management has a lot of promise.

This research need would investigate and evaluate: 1. Use probe vehicles (Connected and Autonomous Vehicles) to support traffic state prediction using deep learning methods. 2. Use of probe vehicles to help develop network-wide traffic efficiency optimization. 3. Use of probe vehicles to assist with dynamic traffic assignment based on traffic control.
